OAKRH19 is a not-for-profit Residential Owners association. This is run by Committee members who give their time and effort freely to progress and resolve matters relating to the aims of the association. This is no small undertaking!
The association was formed in the late summer of 2018, initially to combat an excessive management fee surcharge relating to the site's water pump. In a short space of time we have become formally recognized by the Freehold owner through the Management Company, First Port with whom we held an initial long meeting in April 2019 and have progressed a number of matters. They are now listening to us and we are confident that in time there will be some significant changes in the way we, as owners, are treated in the future. We have also become members of The Federation of Private Residents Association. This gives us access to a wealth of information and legal advice relating to ownership.
The committee is the driving force behind OAKRH19 but we need your support and input as well. If you are eligible, by becoming a member , attending and taking an active part in the association's Annual General and Exceptional meetings, raising issues and concerns that you feel relevant to our aims, initially via our contact page . You might also have some relevant expertise in matters that we are dealing with that you could help with.
Ultimately, a voluntary self-help organization such as this is unlikely to be truly effective without the active participation of its members. So whenever you can please lend a hand to the committee and get involved.
As you will see from information on this site we are actively working on a number of issues. These include but are certainly not limited to:
Management Fee surcharge relating to the main water pump defects, frequent and recurring lift problems, general recurring faults around the complex, transparency of end of year accounts, water utility charges not to be included in the general accounts.
Do you have any other pressing issues that you would like to put before the committee ? Please use our Contact Page to get in touch.
Mick is a retired Police Officer living locally in East Grinstead. He purchased the Kiln House Flat for his daughter to live in.
Roland has lived in the East Grinstead area since 1980. He works in I.T. and is mainly responsible for maintaining the web site.
We are always looking for members or prospective members of OAKRH19 to become committee members.
Offering to be a committee member will involve giving up a small amount of your time to help in progressing various matters relating to the aims of the association. The more committee members we have the quicker issues get resolved and ultimately the more gets done!
